When will I receive a benefit payment?

You will only be considered for unemployment benefits (integration payment) when your employment integration period has passed. This lasts 12 months and starts as soon as you register with the VDAB (Flanders), Actiris (Brussels), Le Forem (Wallonia) or the Employment Agency of the DG (The German Speaking Community). Student jobs you perform in the months of August and September after your studies have ended count toward the career integration time.

After the career integration period has run out, you register with a payment institution: a trade union or the Aid Agency for Unemployment Benefits. They will request your payment from the NEO (National Employment Agency).
